It didn’t take long for those who had Notre Dame Football’s free rent in mind to start worrying about the 2026 schedule. It’s certainly low-hanging fruit, but it’s still low-hanging fruit. Notre Dame is not playing the toughest schedule in the country in 2026, which angers its many detractors.
There are, of course, many different ways to debate who wants to trash the Irish (if that’s something you’re interested in), but there’s no debate, the timing isn’t very sexy (especially with a trip to the Mormon side of Utah). Yes, the Irish have four rivalry games for the trophy – but none of them involve the USC Trojans.

So let’s not pretend this is a fantastic slate either.
In this article you become a wizard.
CHANGE THE 2026 NOTRE DAME FOOTBALL CALENDAR…
I want you to change the Irish program this year to be more to your liking with a simple adjustment. If we have enough, I will organize a poll for a showdown (neato gang). There are just a few rules:
-
Substitute ONE game. This game, however, cannot be ACC or Navy opponents.
-
A P4 party must be replaced by another P4 opponent.
-
A G6 game must be replaced by another G6 opponent.
-
Michigan, USC and Ohio State are NOT available.
So go for it. make that change (big or small) that would make 2026 a little easier on the eyes.
