Seahawks release first injury report of Super Bowl week

The Seattle Seahawks Wednesday practice report is out for Super Bowl week, and it’s more encouraging than the long list suggests.

None of the 14 players the Seahawks listed on their initial injury report were non-participants. Fullback Robbie Ouzts is still worth keeping a close eye on given that he missed the NFC Championship Game with a neck injury and has otherwise been limited in several past practices. Field Gulls attended a press briefing, for which Ouzts was scheduled to sit at a table alongside compatriot Brady Russell, but we only saw Russell the entire time.

Sam Darnold remains limited in the broadest sense of the word as he deals with an oblique injury that otherwise hasn’t caused him to miss any game time, and certainly not the Super Bowl. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Leonard Williams and DeMarcus Lawrence got some rest and did light work.

Amari Kight placed on injured reserve This should bode well for the likelihood that Josh Jones will have no problem being available for Super Bowl Sunday. Jones was active for the NFC Championship Game after missing the San Francisco 49ers game due to multiple injuries.

Safety Nick Emmanwori was limited by an ankle issue, although the severity is unknown. Starting left tackle Charles Cross was also limited, but otherwise there’s no reason to worry, as he told Field Gulls, “I feel good.”

Here’s the full report from the Seahawks and the New England Patriots, whose injury report was light but whose linebacker Robert Spillane was a non-participant.

The Seahawks return to practice Thursday, with the game schedule set for Friday.
