While the Florida Panthers did not obtain the results hoped for, they have largely played good hockey since Matthew Tkachuk returned to the lineup.

In the eight games with Tkachuk healthy and available, the Panthers have controlled 57.43 percent of the scoring chances. That’s the second-highest mark in the league, behind the Lightning, who have won seven of their eight games.

They spend a lot of time at the forefront and get many more chances than they give up.

Part of the reason for this is the penalty issues they’ve had, but I’m not sure that can be ruled out. They lead the league in PIM per game and are 26th in PK% this season. This is not new; this is the norm.

Including special teams, the Panthers will likely have an advantage in the shooting/luck department tonight. They could also receive reinforcements as Brad Marchand and Anton Lundell return.

Expect the back-to-back Stanley Cup winners to give Boston their best shot in an attempt to secure crucial points before the break.

Tkachuk leads the Panthers in high-danger chances and expected goals over the last eight games. He creates a lot of looks, and that should continue tonight. He always seems to keep his best for the Bruins, averaging 3.7 shots on goal over the last 23 games.

The Bruins have had a few days off since the Stadium Series game, which should benefit Hampus Lindholm. He was very productive in similar situations, recording multiple shots in six straight after two days of rest.
