Yesterday’s big trade finally solved the glaring problem of needing more center depth (with all due respect to Queta and Garza). This cost the Celtics some guard depth, however. So, will the team make another move to add a backup goalie or go with what they have?
In theory, Jayson Tatum’s return gives the Celtics the punch they are losing with Simons’ departure. Even though Simons wasn’t exactly a “ball handler” or a “distributor”, he was at least capable of bringing the ball up on occasion. Again, Tatum (nearly full speed) can help in this regard.
Still, it would be nice to have a guy who can give us some minutes at point guard in a pinch. Maybe this guy can be found on the buyout market (Mike Conley? CP3?). Or maybe there’s someone in the G-League who could use a call-up.
Or maybe there’s another deal that Brad is looking into. I don’t know why the Bulls seem to have a team full of guards and couldn’t offer one in yesterday’s deal (well, technically they haven’t made the deal yet and could expand it in the coming days). After a relatively quiet month, things have been improving lately.
So what do you think? Did Brad finish trading before the deadline? Or will it continue to move?
