Penn State has a lot of players at the Senior Bowl this week – Kaytron Allen, Dani Dennis-Sutton, Zane Durant, Zakee Wheatley and Nicholas Singleton all represent the blue and white in Mobile, Alabama. Unfortunately for Nick Singleton, his week is over. He was injured during Thursday’s practice, with Rich Scarcella of the Reading Eagle confirming with Nick’s father that Nick broke his foot.
This is definitely disappointing for Singleton who was hoping to have a strong draft process following a frustrating final season with the Nittany Lions. Singleton only ran for 549 yards on 4.5 yards per carry, so events like the Senior Bowl, the NFL Draft Combine, and Penn State’s Pro Day were going to serve as a platform for Singleton to showcase his unique size and speed. Obviously, with a broken foot, that means he won’t be able to practice as he will have surgery next week which will keep him on the shelf for quite a while.
