Indiana fever Star Kelsey Mitchell sparked further speculation about her WNBA future after posting a cryptic post Monday night.

Drawing on her X-count, Mitchell, a three-time All-Star, said she doesn’t need “nobody to hold her hand until they really want to hold it.”
She signed off by writing “no favors. No documents. If you know, you know.”
The post comes amid stagnant collective bargaining within the WNBA — and just days before Mitchell appears in court for Unrivaled, the offseason 3-on-3 league entering its second season. January 5.
Like virtually every player not on a rookie contract, Mitchell will become a free agent once the WNBA and Women’s National Basketball Players Association agree on a new CBA. The Fever, through general manager Amber Cox and head coach Stephanie White, have repeatedly stated that signing Mitchell is their top priority this offseason.

But one possible interpretation of Mitchell’s X message indicates potential difficulties upon returning to Indiana.
“I hope you are well and I would love to see you again with The Fever next season,” a fan wrote.
“Yes, she’s leaving Fever. She’s been (subtweeting) for weeks now,” said another fan.
“Okay Kelz, now I’m scared. Either you leave the Fever and break our hearts, or you’re pissed about something and you’re about to average 30 per game for us next season.” wrote another.
Last season, Mitchell set a Fever franchise record by averaging 20.2 points per game. She was named to the All-WNBA first team at the end of the season after guiding injury-ravaged Indiana to the WNBA semifinals.
