For those of you who can’t read the hundreds of comments in the link posts every day, we hope to isolate some of the most interesting conversations in Moose Tracks and open them up to broader discussion, giving a little more space and time to the issues that we think are particularly worth discussing. Yesterday, commenter USSDumper (an excellent username, indeed) asked this question:
Which of the following players would help the Mariners the most by having a 3-4 win season next year:

I really enjoyed the conversation that came from this prompt in Moose Tracks, which gave me some food for thought that I wouldn’t have originally considered – like the idea that a 3-4 Colt Emerson win season not only helps the Mariners in a supposedly weak position, but also potentially pays dividends down the line with an additional draft pick. My gut reaction, given yesterday’s injury news regarding Logan Evans, is to prioritize stability in the rotation with Bryce Miller. But honestly, I can see an argument for any player on the roster. It was such a good conversation that I felt it deserved better than being buried in a links post on a Friday morning.
So in the future, if this is something you’re interested in – even if it’s not this particular prompt – please participate here. Maybe we’ll do this every week or twice a week. In a time where authentic conversations are increasingly less common in online spaces, we don’t take our community for granted and we want to provide space for organic ideas raised by community members to grow.
