Myles Colvin LEFT Purdue Basketball looking for a bigger role, and boy did he deliver for his new school on Friday night.

Colvin, an Indianapolis native who played at Heritage Christian, hit a game-winning corner 3-pointer after a long frontcourt drive as his Wake Forest team beat Memphis 69-68. The Demon Deacons (4-2) had 1.5 seconds of a desperation play, and Colvin delivered the final blow.

It was a great victory in the Baha Mar Championships consolation game. The Demon Deacons lost in overtime to Michigan on a neutral court and lost 84-83 to No. 15 Texas Tech on Thursday night.

Colvin’s shot, however, was decisive for Wake Forest. It gives a feeling of belief.

Colvin has come off the bench for all but eight of his 67 career games with the Boilermakers. He averaged 5.4 points per game last season.

This season, Colvin is averaging 11 points and 4.2 rebounds in 27 minutes per game, always coming off the bench, for Wake Forest.
