Patriots and NFL release statements – NBC Boston

The New England Patriots and the NFL each released statements following Tuesday’s announcement that star wide receiver Stefon Diggs was facing charges. based on an incident earlier this month in Dedham, Massachusetts.

According to court records, Diggs is charged with felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery and is expected to be arraigned next year.

The star wide receiver is charged with strangulation and assault in connection with an incident at his home in Dedham.

Declaration of the Patriots:

“The New England Patriots are aware of the accusations that have been made against Stefon Diggs. Stefon has informed the organization that he categorically denies these allegations. We support Stefon. We will continue to gather information and will cooperate fully with the appropriate authorities and the NFL as necessary. Out of respect for all parties involved and given that this is an ongoing legal matter, we will have no further comment at this time.“

NFL Statement:

“We are aware of the matter and have been in contact with the club. We have no further comments at this time.“
