The emergence of Hillmon helped the dream to improve from 15 victories in 2024 to 30 victories this season and to make it the first player in the history of the franchise to receive the prize.

Hillmon received 44 votes for the honor, beating Natisha Hiedeman from Minnesota Lynx by 22 votes. Jessica Shepard (Minnesota, 4 votes), Dominique Malonga (Seattle, 1 vote) and Sami Whitcomb (Phoenix) also received votes.

It was a fantastic season for Hillmon, who showed enormous growth after entering the League as a second round choice in 2022. His performance beyond the Arc, in particular, earned Hillmon more playing time and the ability to publish a year of career.

In 2025, Hillmon did only one pointer in three seasons in the WNBA. Long -term shooting was clearly a goal for Hillmon during the offseason and he showed the regular season once. Hillmon drained 53 3 points for the dream in 2025, becoming a long -term key option on the bench. This capacity has enabled Hillmon to set new careers in career with 25.5 minutes, 8.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. She has saved more playing time over the season, starting at the start of the team.

The price of the sixth player of the year of the WNBA is generally a precursor for even more success in the League. Notable players who have won the prize in recent seasons include Dewanna Bonner, Kelsey Plum and Dererica Hamby. The three players won several selections of stars after winning the prize.
