Indianapolis – Indiana fever announced on Wednesday that Briann January was appointed assistant coach, joining the staff of head coach Stephanie White before the WNBA 2025 season.
January, seven times winner of the All-Defensive team of the WNBA, returns to the franchise that she helped to lead to the 2012 WNBA championship and is currently classified in n ° 2 of all time in the games played and at the assists.

A product from Arizona State University in January was selected by fever No. 6 in total in the WNBA 2009 draft and played nine of its 14 seasons with Indiana. The native of Spokane, Washington, was also honored as WNBA All-Star during the 2014 season.
After his career as a decorated player, January joined the ASU coaches staff as an assistant for the 2017-18 season and then joined White at Connecticut Sun for the 2023 and 2024 campaigns. More recently, January was deputy coach of the Motor City cruise of the NBA G League for the 2024-25 season.
January joins the people previously announced as part of White’s support staff, including assistant coaches Karim-Christmas Kelly, Austin Kelly and the development coach Keith Porter.
