Wright was just short of a triple-double with nine assists and nine rebounds, while Saunders added 10 rebounds and made 6 of 11 3-pointers.

A solid night on the court as AJ Dybantsa had 18 points and seven rebounds for the Cougars, who caught fire after halftime to erase a double-digit deficit.

Christian Bliss and Macon Emory led Delaware with 18 points each.

The Blue Hens took a 17-4 lead behind Emory and Jameel Brown, and BYU missed its first 11 shots from beyond the arc before Wright hit the Cougars’ first 3-pointer late in the half.

BYU turned things around with a barrage of outside shooting in the second half. The Cougars’ first lead came at 51-48, then Dybantsa and Saunders powered a 20-5 run that pushed the lead to 73-57 with 7:19 to play.

Overall, BYU shot 11 of 20 from 3-point range in the second half and outscored Delaware 54-29 after intermission.

The Cougars face a key game against No. 3 UConn on Saturday in Boston.
