I know it was posted as a FanPost, but I thought it was worth sharing again. MLB released the feel-good moment of my life as an A’s fan; the video sequence of Hatteberg’s homerun that sent the A’s up 20 in a row. How can you look at this and not smile? Well, sure, until you hear “The A’s, Pioneers of the AL West…”. Do you think we’ll ever hear this again?

There has been an update on The Ryan Braun Situation. According to Sports Illustrated, although Braun’s test is probably the highest amount ever recorded:

Shortly after the test was announced Saturday, Braun’s spokesperson said in a statement that “there are very unusual circumstances surrounding this case that will support Ryan’s complete innocence.”

Does anyone have any idea what this might entail?

So I was watching the MLB Network a few days ago when they asked this trivia question: Do you know who had the highest single season WAR for a position player in their age 40 or over season?

My head rose; they certainly did not say WAR; I must have misheard “gritty” or “catchy”. But no, that was a real question (and the answer is in their Twitter feed (CHConfidential)). We are talking about WAR, OPS, BABIP; they go back decades and analyze awards and players based on the new statistics. It is amazing.

With sabermetrics continually at the forefront of baseball conversations, Clubhouse Confidential serves as an open forum to discuss and debate the news and moves of the day using modern statistical research and value projection. Segments like “High Heat,” “The Showdown” and “It’s Not What You Think” welcome divergent opinions with pointed questions, going against conventional wisdom to draw conclusions in the new era of baseball analysis.

Has anyone else seen this show?

Here are some other fun Twitter questions:

Finally, are there any great A-related gifts for Christmas? Share yours.
