The USC men’s basketball team has certainly had to deal with more than its fair share of injuries this season. Five-star freshman Alijah Arenas has yet to appear in a game for the Trojans, and now highly touted Maryland transfer Rodney Rice is out for the season with a shoulder injury.
After Sunday’s win over Washington State, head coach Eric Musselman discussed the possibility of a mid-season addition to the team. On Thursday morning, the Trojans did just that by bringing in Robert Morris transfer Kam Woods. He will be eligible to play immediately for USC.

The Trojans will be Woods’ sixth different school in six seasons of college basketball. After leading Robert Morris to the NCAA Tournament last season, he entered the NCAA transfer portal, but never signed with another school. However, with USC needing depth, the Trojans called him up and he will now join the team.
Woods actually knows the USC roster. At Robert Morris last season, he was teammates with Amarion Dickerson, who transferred to USC in the offseason and has appeared in eight games for the Trojans this year so far.
USC will close out its non-conference slate with a game against UC Santa Cruz on Sunday afternoon. The Trojans will then get some rest before returning to Big Ten play in early January with road games against Michigan, Michigan State and Minnesota.
