Nets star says team told him to ‘stay away’ from certain topics during podcast appearances

Michael Porter Jr. is no stranger to stirring controversy on podcasts, but there’s a good chance that all of that will be a thing of the past.

This is because the Brooklyn fillets The star said on compatriot Lonzo Ball’s show that his team advised him to “avoid” specific topics.

That didn’t really stop Porter from saying his eighth-grade self would do just fine against WNBA players, citing previous experience. He did, however, admit on the podcast that the topic of the WNBA was “sensitive,” but it wasn’t the first time he’d made similar comments.

The Nets did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Porter once said he wouldn’t date a woman who was “hit on” by another NBA player.

“If it’s someone I have to be with on a daily basis and I have to see him, and he hit your daughter or whatever, that’s going to be hard to deal with,” he said. according to Complex. “Maybe some guys are emotionally closed off enough that it doesn’t bother them, but that’s not me, bro.”

Porter has also mentioned controversial figure Andrew Tate in other appearances, including showing women some of his clips for “playing devil’s advocate.”

“I need to know a little more about their beliefs,” Porter said on the Podcast “A Night with Steiny”. “So I’m not saying I’m a misogynist or anything, but I’m going to put on some Andrew Tate and see how they react. … I’m going to bring up conversations and play devil’s advocate just to see how this girl thinks about certain things.”

Speaking about Carmelo Anthony’s podcast Last month, Porter likened his controversial comments to “just talking s**t.”

Porter’s Nets are 2-12 this season, but Porter is a bright spot, averaging over 24 points and seven rebounds. His brother, Jontay, was recently kicked out of the NBA for gambling.
