Brice Bément and Bret Beherns

(WCIA) — Illinois coach Bret Bielema is busy preparing for Saturday’s game against Minnesota, but he also took time last night for a Big Ten football coaches zoom with commissioner Tony Petitti.
The topic was in part the Michigan sign-stealing scandal and the NCAA investigation. Bielema is one of the most established coaches in the league and his voice certainly carries a lot of weight, saying he trusts the decisions Petitti is making to resolve this issue.
“There are a lot of reasons why everyone is angry about college football right now and I get it, I join the party, there are some things that are a little out of whack,” Bielema said. “You have to embrace the portal, you have to embrace the things in our conference that make the headlines and the major stories. I really love Tony (Petitti) and what he brought to the table and you know it’s probably going to shape a lot of things in the future about what happened in the past, but all I can do is I’m worried about playing Minnesota and let’s see what we can do.
