When NBC takes over FOX Sports with its coverage of the NASCAR Cup Series starting this weekend, racing fans will hear a familiar voice performing the NASCAR Channel’s opening theme song.
A staple since NBC began airing the second half of the NASCAR season in 2015, country music star Blake Shelton is the voice behind the third year’s catchy opening theme, singing Bring back the sun. Although it’s the same artist singing the same song, the theme has been revamped with more than 20 current Cup Series drivers — including Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch and Joey Logano — and a montage celebrations for this season’s drivers.
The song will be released before Saturday’s Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway, but this preview will set the tone for the week leading up to the iconic track’s second race of 2017.
If you need a refresher on what previous NASCAR theme song videos looked like, here’s a look at 2015 and 2016.
