September 23 – Moses Lake – Local Washington Collegiate Football Programs played another week of grill games. While the cougs and the Huskies clashed in the Apple Cup, the Eastern Washington Eagles won their first victory of the season, see below how each team behaved last weekend.

The Wildcats (2-1) were victorious 52-6 when they welcomed the Buffaloes in their first conference match of the season. The Wildcats took an advance of 21-0 in the first quarter and would stack it in the next three quarters.
The quarterrier Kennedy McGill finished 10 passes for 217 yards and four affected in the air. In the race, he also represented 62 yards and a touchdown. The Receiver Mason Jurgens played two explosive games, a reception of 55 yards and a racing game which experienced 78 yards and a touchdown.
“I am incredibly proud of the effort and the intensity that our guys put in this week of preparation. They really went out quickly and are never dropped. It is now time to attack a trip to the west of the New Mexico next week,” said head coach Chris Fisk.
The Wildcats play west of New Mexico at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Eastern Washington vs Western Illinois
The Eagles broke out offensively, winning their first victory of the season against the western Illinois Leathernecks, with a final score of 52-31. Eastern scored first, but the match was in the majority of the night, while the Leathernecks offensive followed the pace of the Eagles.
In a press release from Ewu Athletics, Eastern displayed 597 total offense yards. The Eagles had 325 yards on the ground, on average 7.7 yards per race. Nate Bell amassed 416 infraction yards and marked five affected. He rushed 18 times for 144 yards and three affected, while finishing 11 out of 29 (37.9%) passed for 272 yards, launching two affected. Eastern preceded WIU, 25-14 in the second half to move away and win home victory.

“(Bell) is a playmaker. He goes at a different pace and it is not a fanatic rhythm. He sees things that are in his dead angles and have an idea of the game. I think the reverse with Wes (Garrett) made us go more than anything. In the return game, I am communicating with a more aggressive scholarship.
The Eagles start the conference on Saturday in Bozeman when they face the state of Montana, fourth, at 1 p.m.

The cougs and the Huskies clashed during the 117th Apple Cup Game. The Huskies were victorious 59-24 on the cougars on Saturday.
Demond Williams Jr. launched four Touché passes and ran for a score, according to a press release from the University of Washington Athletics. Williams was at the heart of Washington’s offensive success with 298 yards in the air and 88 others on the ground.
The 59 points of the Huskies are the highest of the UW in the history of the Apple Cup.
“I thought they came out ready to play,” said Fisch. “This is a match that we had to win; we had to go out and play our best football.”

The Huskies have marked each possession, extending their sequence of seasonal opening score at 21 consecutive disks. Washington scored touched on seven of his eight score records. The Huskies opened the match with a touched disc while Boston caught a pass of 29 yards from Williams.
“We will grow, I know there is a team in there that wants to respond,” said Rogers. “I had the impression that our best defense was to keep our offense on the field as we operate.”
The cougars will go to Colorado State to play the Rams at 4.30 p.m. on Saturday.
The Huskies return home on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. to welcome the Ohio State Buckeyes.
