Venus Williams married actor and model Andrea Preti this weekend, the tennis great announced Tuesday on social networks.
Williams, 45, and Preti tied the knot in Palm Beach, Florida, after a five-day celebration attended by family and close friends. The couple also held an unofficial ceremony in Italy earlier this year.
Preti is an Italian actor and model of Danish origin, according to IMDb. The couple met during Milan Fashion Week in 2024 and got engaged in January 2025.
Williams first publicly referenced Preti in July while competing at the DC Open, where she became the second oldest woman in the Open era to win a singles match at the tour level. After the victory, Williams thanked her fiancé, who was in the stands, during her on-court interview.
The marriage comes as Williams continues to extend one of the longest careers in professional tennis history. She had not competed in a tournament for 16 months before returning to Washington and said she plans to play a 33rd consecutive season on the WTA circuit which begins in January in Auckland.
Williams is a seven-time Grand Slam singles champion and former world number 1. Beyond tennis, she remains a prominent figure in fashion and culture. Earlier this month, it was announced that Williams will co-chair the 2026 Met Gala alongside Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
The couple’s Palm Beach wedding followed several days of events, including a private courthouse ceremony Friday morning and a larger celebration Saturday, according to Vogue, which was first to report details of the wedding festivities.
Williams has not announced any changes to her competition schedule following the wedding.
