If we look at the Western Conference, we see that things are tightening up at the top of the table. The Thunder are currently in the top seed, holding off the Nuggets who are mid-game behind them with a 45-20 record. The Timberwolves aren’t far off the pace, just 1.5 games behind, but it’s going to be tough to stay in the pack without KAT for what will likely be much of the rest of the regular season, if not all of it.. The Clippers are recovering from a slight slump after the All-Star break and are currently 3.5 games behind OKC. They are 2.5 games ahead of the Pelicans for the fourth and final seed at home in the first round of the playoffs, and five games ahead of the Mavs who are in Play-In position in 8th place. Both of these teams will have their eyes on a top seed heading into the playoffs, but know that it won’t take much to drop down in the standings and put themselves in a tough spot when the playoffs begin.
