My wife received a TikTok during quarantine. As one might imagine, she hasn’t stopped since clicking “download” on the app.
So I’ve become desensitized to hearing “Blinding Lights Challenge” or anything that Addison Rae does every day.
But miraculously, over the weekend, she was scrolling through what seemed like the third hour in a row of absurd videos when something different caught my eye.
It was the theme song for the NFL on FOX. Immediately it caught my attention, so I stopped scrolling Twitter on my phone, leaned back on the couch, and took a look.
What I saw was the most egregious ranking of NFL theme songs I’ve ever seen.
5.ESPN
4.CBS
3. FOX
2. Sunday Night Football on NBC
1….NFL NETWORK?!?!
Look, it’s TikTok, so I can’t say I’m really surprised that this is what a viral video from these charts would look like, but it’s still completely far-fetched.
First of all, there should only be one answer to what’s number one, and that’s hands down FOX. He East professional football. The only song we think of when a team comes out of a tunnel on television is the FOX theme song. It’s the perfect mix of pomp and drama.
The fact that the NFL Network theme is even on this list, let alone NUMBER 1, is insane. Their old Thursday Night Football theme had “ohhh shit starting this week? OK uhhh, throw a medley of bells from NFL Films in there with something and smack it in the open.”
NBC’s Sunday Night Football has a real gladiator feel, but CBS is a classic and has been around longer, which gives me the nod.
This is what the list should look like:
1. FOX
2.CBS
3. CNB
4.ESPN
I’m not even putting this NFL Network song on my list. I can not do it. What is your?
