When you are successful, other teams come to call. THE Washington Commanders are not used to other teams who want as many of their coaches. During the last month, several teams asked for interviews with the attacking coordinator Kliff Kingsbury, the defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr., the quarter of the Tavita Pritchard, the assistant coach of QB David Blough and the assistant chief coach / Coordinator of the Brian Johnson pass game.
NFL teams can refuse others to interview staff members if it is not a simple promotion. For example, Pritchard interviewed the Jaguars and Johnson with the Texans for their vacant offensive coordinator. It would be promotions for one or the other of these coaches, just like Kingsbury and Whitt interviewing for head coach stations.
The jets, Bears and Jaguars all asked for authorization from interviewer Blough, and the commanders denied all the requests. Like Kingsbury, Blough will return next season.
This is another big victory for Washington. Blough, 29, finished playing in 2023, and the 2024 season was his first as a coach. He played for Kingsbury with Arizona in 2022, impressive the former Cardinals head coach.
It did not take Blough for a long time to impress the others, especially the head coach Dan Quinn. Quinn, Kingsbury and the quarter-Arrière Jayden Daniels praised Blough last season. Daniels had a particularly strong relationship with the former quarter of a pordue.
From the training camp and to perform every Friday during the season, Blough and Daniels are committed to a “PIG” quarter match, which would be quite competitive. They discussed it below.
It seems that each member of Washington’s offensive staff is coming back, which is good news for Daniels and the commanders. If Kingsbury leaves for a second job as head coach next year, Blough could be online for a promotion.
