Like the Colorado men’s basketball As the program turns a new page heading into its first season in the Big 12 Conference, expectations are shaky to say the least. However, head coach Tad Boyle shared his fascination with the possibilities his 2024-25 team offers during a press conference Monday.
“Fans should expect to see an exciting group, really talented guys who can get up and down the field,” Boyle said. “The great thing about college basketball as a fan, to me, is you get to see these young men become men, and you get to see the development… As fans , who pay a lot of money to come to our games, they want to see guys who are going to put everything on the line for them, and we’re going to do that.”
This past offseason was marked by change for the Buffs, as three members of their NCAA Tournament team left for the NBA draft. CU also lost three notable players to the transfer portal, with J’Vonne Hadley, Eddie Lampkin Jr. and Luke O’Brien finding new homes.
Underclassmen Bangot Dak and Assane Diop stood out in Boyle’s remarks Monday regarding the development of his young returning players. But graduate transfers Elie MaloneTrevor Baskin and Andrej Jakimovski were brought in to keep the Buffaloes moving into a new era.
That era officially begins Nov. 4 when Eastern Washington comes to the CU Events Center. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. MT (ESPN+).
