Caitlin Clark broke the WNBA record for most assists in a single season on Friday night.
The moment she rewrote history was oddly disappointing for the rookie player (to be honest), but certainly in line with the things Caitlin does really well. During the second quarter, as the Fever were moving up the court, Caitlin scanned the court, spotting a wide-open Kelsey Mitchell, who was calling for the ball.
She quickly passed the ball to Mitchell in a high-headed motion, who made a big 3-pointer. (It makes sense that Caitlin made the pass to Kelsey for the single season.) Record for assists by a WNBA rookie and the league single-season record.) Here’s the moment during the Indiana Fever’s game against the Las Vegas Aces when Caitlin surpassed Alyssa Thomas’ record (316) set last season.
