New Orleans Pelicans may have another major injury to deal with.
Former All-Star Dejounte Murray left Friday’s match against the Boston Celtics with an apparent contactless injury in his right leg. After launching himself for the ball, he immediately fell and grabbed his ankle, then stuttered his way out of the field.
Murray left the match at the first quarter with four points in eight minutes on 2 on 6 shots.
If Murray’s injury is indeed serious, the Pelicans will at least be treated with an area where they have experience. The team entered Friday with a record of 12-36, a total of 48 games, and yet the only players on their list with more than 40 games played were Yves Missi (45), Javonte Green (43) and Brandon Boston Jr .
As for their main players:
There are also rotation players like Trey Murphy III and Jose Alvarado who also missed at least a dozen games.
No NBA team was so far weird like the Pélicans this season, which they scored on a somewhat optimistic note after winning Murray in a successful business. With little to play at this stage, the loom as a probable seller on the deadline for trade, with perhaps even more reconstruction to come during the offseason.
