BALTIMORE – The Adam Jones retirement from All -Star Retirement Adam Jones returns to the Baltimore Orioles as a special advisor to the Managing Director Mike Elias as well as community ambassador.
Orioles have announced this decision. Jones will advise Elias on various questions while serving as a resource for the rest of the Baseball Operations Department and for players.
“I am grateful to the Orioles relations that I have established since my retirement, which led us to this exciting partnership. Having the opportunity to be around the game I like, while learning the side of the baseball operations of one of the best directors general is really an honor, “Jones said in a statement published by the team.
“I am happy to be a resource for Orio Orioles and I will offer everything I learned from the past experience to help the team succeed. Baltimore has always meant so much for me, and this unique role will allow me to continue to restore the community I like. It is a special opportunity and I can’t wait to kiss her fully. »»
Jones will start this new role by working as a guest coach at the Orioles Spring Training Camp in Sarasota, Florida.
Jones played for the 2008-18 Orioles and won four gold gloves during this section. He was part of the Al All-Star team in 2009 and each year from 2012 to 15.
He also played with the Seattle Mariners (2006-07) and Arizona Diamondbacks (2019) before officially withdrawing as an Oriole on September 15, 2023.
Jones ranks fourth in the history of charges in bats and in total of the bases and fifth in races, circuits, product points and additional strokes.
He was triple nominated for the Roberto Clemente Award awarded each year to the MLB player who best illustrates the baseball game, the sports spirit, community participation and the contribution to a team. During his player career, Jones was involved in the Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Baltimore, the RBI of Orioles and Maryland YMCA.
