The development authority also plans to build an Expo Mart on another 200 acres in Sector 8. It will primarily focus on promoting furniture and handicrafts. Feasibility studies will be conducted by India Exposition Mart Ltd to determine the construction and revenue models of these projects.
India Exposition Mart Ltd has sought 200 acres of land from YEIDA to establish South Asia’s largest exhibition, convention and MICE project in the region. At present, the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida hosts numerous events every year on its 58-acre site.
In addition to this, YEIDA has also earmarked around 2,800 acres in Sectors 22 F and 23 B for ‘green recreation’ facilities. The development authority will explore options such as an international golf course (1,000 acres), an open stadium, an open-air amphitheatre and an amusement park in the area, which will enhance its appeal for residents and visitors.
