After participating on a limited basis in Wednesday’s practice, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was fully involved Thursday, putting him in contention to start Sunday’s practice. NFC Championship Game against Washington’s commanders without injury issues.
Over the past month, Hurts has dealt with a concussion that forced him to miss the last two games of the regular season then a knee injury last week Divisional round victory against the Los Angeles Rams. But playing in tough conditions in the playoffs is something he’s used to.
Since 2021, Hurts has suffered season-ending injuries to his ankle, shoulder, finger and now knee.
“It’s part of the game,” Hurts said Wednesday. “It’s part of the game and everything that comes with that comes with that, you know?
“I told you I put myself through whatever it took to win and some things come with that. But ultimately, you just have to make the necessary adjustments to be able to play at a high level. There will be no excuse for entering or exiting.
Commanders without Payne, Wagner Thursday
One of the Commanders’ concerns heading into Sunday is the status of defensive tackle Daron Payne and linebacker Bobby Wagner. Neither practiced Wednesday or Thursday, with Payne dealing with a knee and finger issue, while Wagner suffered an ankle injury.
Wagner injured his ankle in the win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Payne suffered a dislocated finger during the same match and is now working through a knee problem.
The Commanders will be permanently without right guard Sam Cosmi after his suffered an ACL tear during last week’s victory against the Detroit Lions.
Bills pending on Rapp, Benford
Even though the Kansas City Chiefs have few injury concerns heading into the game AFC Championship Gamethe Buffalo Bills are waiting to see if several players will be in the game on Sunday.
Safety Taylor Rapp is dealing with a hip injury on a daily basis, according to head coach Sean McDermott. He was injured during the Bills game. 27-25 victory in divisional round against the Baltimore Ravens last week.
Cornerback Christian Benford suffered a concussion during the game and while he was limited this week, he remains in the protocol. Linebacker Matt Milano continues to be limited by hamstring soreness. Before the Ravens game, Milano was dealing with a biceps injury, while Benford was dealing with back pain.
