The K League has revealed the official trophy that will be used for the 2026 Coupang Play K League Super Cup, as well as brand new sleeve patches for the reigning champions.

The K League is getting a makeover as the 2026 season approaches, with new teams in K League 2 and newcomers in K League 1. There is also the return of the Super Cup, which has a brand new trophy.

The K League says the newly revealed Super Cup trophy reflects a design concept symbolizing the start of the ascension to the throne. Featuring a V-shaped metal structure representing rays of victory, the trophy captures both the start of a new season and the dignity of a champion. Additionally, structural lines extending upward visually emphasize a team’s growing energy and the presence of the title winner.

In particular, the shiny silver finish strongly reflects the spotlights, creating the effect of the trophy appearing as a light source, while the asymmetrical structure symbolizes the unpredictability of the competition and the dynamic collision between the two teams.

The Super Cup trophy embodies both the meaning of kicking off a new season and the excitement of a unique match.

The K League Super Cup is an official competition organized by the K League, held before the new season and returning for the first time since 2006. It is played between the K League 1 champions of the previous season and the winners of the Korea Cup. If a club wins both competitions, the K League 1 runner-up will participate in their place.

This year’s Super Cup will take place on Saturday, February 21 at 2 p.m., a week before the start of the K League 1 season, at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, who completed a league-cup double last season, will face Daejeon Hana Citizen, who finished second in K League 1 to record the best league result in the club’s history.

The winner of the match will take home the Super Cup trophy, marking the official start of the new season. The match will be played over 90 minutes then directly to penalties if the score is equal. The winners will receive 200 million Korean won and the runners-up 100 million.

Coupang Play is the title sponsor of the event, and ticket sales and live streaming will both be handled through Coupang Play. Ticket information will be announced on the Coupang Play official website on Friday, January 30. Ticket sales will begin on Friday February 6 via the Coupang Play mobile application, with Sport Pass pre-sales opening at 12 p.m., followed by general sales at 8 p.m.

While chasing a new trophy, Jeonbuk will have new K League champions badges on his sleeves.

The K League says the crest is a unique league symbol indicating that all teams participating in competitions organized by the K League have equal status.

Previously, the champions crest was based on the competition’s official logo, which includes the league’s main sponsor, Hana Bank, and featured the same design as the standard league crest but with a gold finish to differentiate it. In contrast, the new champions patch incorporates each club’s unique elements into the design, capturing both the team’s identity and the pride of having won the title.

The redesigned Champions crest combines graphic elements inspired by the club stadium with the championship trophy, visually expressing the symbolic identity of the winning team in an intuitive way. The update goes beyond a league-wide emblem, reflecting the intention to also celebrate the history and achievements of the champions.

As a result, 2025 K League 1 champions Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors will wear the new champions crest in the 2026 season, featuring the Jeonju World Cup Stadium, the club’s record 10 K League 1 titles and the championship trophy.
