The NCAA and the RQ + have teamed up to create the initiative of the next generation at official, by stimulating NCAA efforts to increase interest and education in the world of male basketball co-ownership.

The free initiative will be a six -month virtual course – from October and will end in March – for emerging male basketball officials which offers targeted professional development content on subjects related to the art and science of the Commission. All those responsible for non-division I, in particular Division II, Division III, the Junior College, the National Association of Intercollegate Athletics and secondary officials, are eligible to register.

Content during the virtual part will include training videos and interactive modules that discuss subjects such as working effectively with your team, best practices when calling on the ground and how to interact with coaches. There will also be opportunities to have conversations with other officials on current trends throughout the season.

After the end of the virtual courses in March, 100 participants will be selected to attend the next generation in person in the officer’s program in Indianapolis, the site of the male basketball championships in Division I, II and III of the NCAA 2026. The selected officials will participate in a weekend full of events, including a clinic of a day and the possibility of offering to the national team American basketball minicamp and / or the Manager 2026 game tournament.

“This can not only be used as a recruitment tool, but also an opportunity for information,” said Bo Boroski, founder and CEO of RQ +. “There is a false idea on how to get involved and the calendar associated with becoming an intercollegial manager of male basketball. We want to provide content, access to essential information and a global overview of this world. It is important to empower potential civil servants with information that can also have the opportunity to climb and climb and down and down and down and down and up.”

The NCAA has organized events like this for male basketball officials in several of the ancient Final Fours de Men’s, but with the help of RQ +, he hopes that this new initiative will extend its scope and impact. Jim Haney, the national coordinator of NCAA officials for Division III, thinks that the program will also give young managers the possibility of connecting with veterans.

“You learn people who have been there and have done things and made mistakes,” said Haney. “They are ready to share with you and supervise you as an official young person to come. It is important that all the young civil servants have someone to rely on, and to come without it.

Registration on the program opens at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. To register, visit Plus.refquest.com/ record And select the “Next Gen” logo.
