This disbursement of profits follows another piece of good news for WNBA players regarding league revenue. As reported by ESPN, the union announced Sunday that it would give a total of “$9.25 million to players from licensing revenue generated since 2020 through the sale of jerseys, trading cards, video games and other merchandise” by June 1.
The next WNBA season is currently scheduled to begin on May 8, but a collective bargaining agreement has not yet been reached between the league and the players’ association.
According to ESPN, the league has set a March 10 deadline for the WNPBA to agree on a new CBA to keep the 2026 schedule intact.
