The future of the NBA takes center stage Friday night.
The Rising Stars Challenge returns this weekend. It promises to be an exciting watch, giving viewers a glimpse into the present and future of the league, all under the twinkling lights of Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
It’s a star-studded competition. San Antonio’s Victor Wembanyama, Oklahoma City’s Chet Holmgren and Orlando’s Paolo Banchero are among the standout youngsters expected to participate in the festivities. But there is a wealth of talent that should make it even more difficult to determine who will take home MVP honors.

2024 NBA Rising Stars Challenge Format
Here is the full details of the event, by NBA.com:
All three games in the mini-tournament will be played to a final target score, meaning each game will end on a successful field goal or free throw rather than time expiring.
Both semi-final matches – Game 1 and Game 2 – will be played with a final target score of 40.
The final match, featuring the winners, will be played with a target final score of 25 to determine the tournament champion.

2024 NBA All-Star Schedule
NBA All-Star Weekend begins Friday with the All-Star Celebrity Game and Rising Stars Challenge. The skills competitions will take place on Saturday and the All-Star Game will take place on Sunday.
