Huntington, W.VA. (AP) – Cade Gibbs scored 16 points while Marshall beat the Appalachian State 75-57 Friday.
Gibbs added five rebounds for the Thundering herd (19-12, 12-6 Sun Belt Conference). Jalen Speer added 14 points by making 6 out of 16 (2 per 10 of the 3 -point beach) when he had also collected five assists. Obinna Anochili-Killen collected 12 points and made 5 out of 11 on the field.
Myles Tate paved the way for Mountaineers (17-13, 10-8) with 19 points and two blocks. CJ Huntley added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the condition of the Appalachians. Dior Conners also had 11 points.
Marshall remains a match at the rear of equality with four lanes at the top of the solar belt.
