Yankees right -handed Marcus Stroman – The subject of commercial rumors for most of the offseason – had been a non -presentation during training training in the spring for the past two days.
Friday morning, Stroman came to the camp.
Andy Martino reported the initiate MLB Sny On Thursday, Stroman had already taken his training in the physical spring and “took a few more days, but did not hold or left in the long term”.
Martino added that “the complete expectation” was that Stroman would be at the camp in the coming days.
Shortly after his arrival Friday, Stroman spoke with journalists and said on several occasions that he would not have relief.
“I will not launch in the enclosure of the lifts,” he said. “I am a starter.”
Stroman added that being invited to relieve himself in the playoffs is different, but reiterated that he would not plan to do it during the regular season.
Stroman, 33 years old, who signed a two -year contract for the last off -season which contained an acquisition option for 2026, is apparently the strange man in the rotation. Stroman’s option for 2026 will only be acquired if it is launching at least 140 rounds this season.
Join the remains Gerrit Cole,, Luis Gil,, Carlos RodonAnd Clarke Schmidt on the departure staff will be Max friedwho signed a contract of eight years earlier this offseason.
The above means that Stroman is probably a ticket for another team unless the Yanks undergo an injury in the rotation.
Speaking after Stroman during his usual daily availability, director Aaron Boone said that the Stroman stretch team to be a starter and that any decision on what to do is “far”. Boone added that the team should not use a rotation of six men.
Last year, during his first season in the Bronx, Stroman had an MPM of 4.31 (4.62 FIP) and 1.46 Whip while withdrawing 113 strikers in 154.2 rounds in 30 games (29 departures) .
Stroman did not launch during the World Series Yankees race. He was on the list of Alcs (but did not appear in a match), and was left from the ALDS and World Series list.
“I am good where I am,” said Stroman about his future. “I love everyone in this clubhouse. Everyone knows it. You can ask my teammates the relationship I have with them.”
