Manchester United have had a difficult Premier League campaign and sit 13th in the table after 17 matches played.
The club has struggled in the final third with just 21 goals scored, while their defensive record has also been unconvincing of late.
Under new manager Ruben Amorim, the left-back position has been problematic.
Diogo Dalot and Tyrell Malacia started regularly in this role, but both were mediocre defensively and offensively.
With Luke Shaw injured again, United need an upgrade. We think the club should sign Theo Hernandez from AC Milan.
Hernandez’s current contract with the Rossoneri expires in the summer of 2026. No progress has been made regarding the renewal with his agent.
Milan live recently reported that his chances of leaving are “very high” and that United are “ready to go on the attack” for his signature.
His relationship with Milan manager Paulo Fonseca also became tense. The Red Devils have a great chance to take advantage.
Hernandez would be a great fit at left-back
The French international has been a key player for the Rossoneri.
Hernandez has had an exceptional 2023/24 season with 16 goals in 46 games. The left-back continued his good form with four goals in 19 outings.
The former Real Madrid player also excelled in his defensive work. He has won 62 percent of his duels this campaign, with almost four recoveries and two clearances per game.
Hernandez also impressed with his distribution. He completed 90 percent of his passes.
The defender can provide balance in attack and defense from United’s left-back role.
Milan appreciates it at around £41 millionbut United can capitalize on their contract with the Rossoneri to negotiate a lower price when the transfer window reopens.
United CEO Omar Berrada I already identified it as a prime target. If United cannot afford a permanent deal, a loan deal with an obligation to buy next summer could be agreed.
