The Winnipeg Jets were defeated 5-2 by Utah HC in what HC Scott Arniel called “embarrassing” but will have the chance to avenge that loss.
Arniel said the effort against Utah was embarrassing from top to bottom, but took the blame for the loss. The Jets found themselves trailing Utah 4-0 in the third period after giving up several transition goals. The Jets will be punished again tonight if they are not prepared for Utah’s counterattacks.
Nikolaj Ehlers is likely to be out tonight with an illness and Brad Lambert has been called in to replace him. Lamber has skated in four games this season and will be looking for his first point if Ehlers is unable to play.

The Jets responded well to Arniel’s comments against the Colorado Avalanche, winning 3-2 in overtime. Neal Pionk scored the game-winner in overtime and it looked the same as he had a few years ago.

Connor Hellebuyck will be between the pipes for the Jets and will once again beat Connor Ingram. Ingram stopped 23 of the 25 shots he faced in Monday’s game.
