Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola spoke to the media ahead of Tuesday’s Premier League match against Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium (kick-off 7:30 p.m. GMT).
Here are the main points of his press conference:

Due to quick turnaround time after Cherries 1-1 draw against Aston VillaIraola said it was “difficult to have the same starting 11” to face David Moyes’ Everton.
-
Bournemouth midfielder Ben Gannon-Doak, who last played for Iraola in November 2025, will start running this week after suffering a hamstring injury while on international duty with Scotland.
-
About Gannon-Doak’s injury, Iraola said: “He’s a little late, especially more than Tyler (Adams) and Tav (Marcus Tavernier). He starts this week to run alone. It’s an injury we don’t want to risk, in the sense that he’s a very young player. We don’t just need him for these games, we need him for many years. March is when we can start thinking about him.”
-
Iraola said he is “excited” about visiting Hill Dickinson Stadium but expects a “tough” game against the Toffees. “I can’t wait to see the stadium and see the atmosphere,” Iraola said.
-
On Everton, Iraola added: “I hope we are level because they are in a very good moment, and it is going to be very demanding. Sometimes it is difficult to open the games against them because they are so strong defensively. They are very strong in set pieces and they have three defenders who lead in aerial duels. I hope we can control the game and not give them so many opportunities to threaten our box.”
-
Bournemouth full-back Adrien Truffert has made 58 overlapping runs this season, the most of any player in the Premier League, but Iraola says his next “challenge” is to add more assists to his game. “He has a lot of presence in the final third and the volume is always there. It’s the same with Milos (Kerkez). He was coming on a lot and not getting assists,” added Iraola.
