Iowa’s first year’s first year of male basketball coach Ben McCollum obtained his first engagement in the 2026 class. And that’s a big one.
Ethan Harris announced his commitment to the Hawkeyes on Saturday evening. The 6 -footer 9 inch and 200 pound attacker frequents Camas High School in Washington. Harris is classified as player No. 1 in Washington State, such as power n ° 16 in class and player n ° 94 on a national scale by 247Sport composite classification.
As a junior in Camas last season, Harris collected an average of 18.8 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3 assists per game en route to be appointed boys’ basketball player of the year. Harris also played for a basketball ball last summer, with an average of 10.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.1 blocks and 1.4 interceptions per match while firing 38% at 3 points.

Harris took a Official visit to Iowa City In May, where the Hawkeyes extended an offer to the talented native of Washington.
Despite the hard thrusts by both Washington And Gonzaga, Iowa has won to secure its engagement in cycle 2026.
“All the schools of my top four were great choices,” said Harris Eric Bossi 247Sports. “But I chose iowa for culture and what type of basketball player they will make me.
“Coming in the first year, I do not expect anything. I will work on my tail and I believe in that the coach McCollum builds and will play the role he wants from me.”
With Harris now on board with the Hawkeyes, McCollum will certainly use this commitment as a launch ramp for additions to the 2026 class at the bottom of the road.
