The topic of transgender athletes is a thin line to walk. When it comes to the inclusion of transgender athletes and how to approach their inclusivity, many people have different opinions on it. Some people believe it is acceptable for transgender athletes to compete in both the men’s and women’s divisions based on their identity. While others feel that they should have their own platform to make it fair to other athletes and even themselves. Fans and athletes are divided, but OJ Simpson has made his views clear to fans.

The 76-year-old retired NFL RB took to Twitter to share his own thoughts on how transgender people can be fairly included in the world of sports. He told how he heard women’s soccer star Megan Rapinoe say she would have no problem competing against transgender women.

While OJ Simpson said he was “all for that”, he then gave the example of the South Carolina senator who said: “What if Mike Tyson decided to identify as a woman? Are you going to let him box women? The former NFL star then offered a solution to the problem, saying: “If you’re born male or female, I don’t think it’s fair in sport to see them compete. Give them their own category. Let trans people compete with trans people, women against women and men against men.”

She went on to explain that the issue of trans people taking advantage of their situation in sports is not common and is “not only.

She then criticized comedian Dave Chappelle, former tennis star Martina Navratilova and presenter Sage Steele for indirectly inciting violence against transgender people. Rapinoe felt that if these people continue to make jokes and talk about this issue, it leads to violence against trans people in a broader context.
