Race managers hope to attract more Nascar Cup drivers to the Racky roof Bruadway 150 battle in Speedway from Nashville Fairgrounds a year after Ross Chastain and Josh Berry participated in the event last June.

The second annual race is May 29 on the historic track of 0.596 mile. Like last year, it is scheduled for the same week as the Nascar Cup Series race in Nashville Superspeedway. The Cup race was moved this year on June 1.

With so many cup drivers in the city, the idea is to try to convince some of these drivers to participate in the Bruadway 150 battle, which did not have a title sponsor during its inaugural year.

The pilots of the Cup, Ross Chastain and Josh Berry, participated in the race in 2024. Chastain recently told Tennessean that he hoped to return this year and that Berry, who is from Hendersonville, said last year that He planned to continue running in the race.

Meanwhile, the racing promoter and CEO of the athletics company, Bob Sargent, will be at Daytona 500 on February 16, recruiting cup drivers for the Boulevard battle.

“We had a little late start last year, but we thought that the race and the excitement were good and we were happy to have the two pilots of the Cup,” said Sargent. “We are working to get more to come this year. Obtaining the calendar of these guys was delicate last year and we think that making the word earlier this year will be the key to get more to come. I’m going to be Daytona To speak to many drivers.

The race has more stability, said Sargent, with Rackley Roofing on board as a title sponsor. This could also mean that the chances are more important for Chastain to come back.

Chastain leads for the Rackley War Team in the Nascar Craftsman Truck series with the Super late Model and Pro Late Model series. He led the Tootsie N ° 1 Chevrolet prepared by the Rackley War in the Broadway 150 battle last year.

Chastain rolls for trackhouse races in the Cup series and with the team with offices in Nashville, that encourages him to want to run in the Broadway 150 battle.

Chastain and Berry, who moved from Stewart-Haas who rushes to Wood Brothers Racing for the 2025 season, embarked on an animated battle towards the end of the Broadway 150 battle last year.

The two pilots were in the top eight throughout the race before finding themselves to exchange painting with (Berry) in fourth and (Chastain) fifth with 16 laps to do.

Berry went to Chastain at 135 and took the lead in the race after the final restart. But the restart was canceled after a spin-out at the back of the peloton and Berry never returned to the front.

“It was definitely a race between the two of us,” said Chastain after the race. “I wanted to beat the boy in the hometown for sure.”

Chastain finished fourth and Berry finished fifth.

Trey Craig de Louisville, Kentucky, won the race and the victory was very special with Chastain and Berry on the ground.

“The fact that with 10 to leave, I have Ross Chastain and Josh Berry behind me; I mean it’s great,” said Craig. “It’s not happy every day. These cup guys do not want to come and surpass themselves by us.”

Chase Elliott, Daniel Suarez, Kyle Busch, will Kyle Larson be in Battle of Broadway?

Another cup driver that may be interested in participating in the Broadway 150 battle is Chase Elliott, who ran to Nashville Fairgrounds at the start of his career, won a race in the SRX series there in 2022 and supported the Back to Nascar on the track.

Daniel Suárez, also a member of Trackhouse Racing, is also a possibility with Kyle Busch, who ran in CRA Budweiser 150 in Fairgrounds in 2009 the year after having broken a trophy guitar in Nashville Superspeedway. Kyle Larson, who often participates in the races between cup events, is also a possibility.
