The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, announced that the team has raised more than $14,000 that will be donated to local non-profit organizations through the activation of six themed nights featuring jerseys and to statistics-based promotions during the 2023-24 season.
“Giving back to our community with our themed jersey program and stat-driven promotions through a multitude of corporate partners will be an ongoing opportunity at Swarm home games,” said Swarm President Steve Swetoha. “We recognize and thank Novant Health, Blue Ridge Companies, Hudson Automotive, YMCA of Greensboro, Allegacy Federal Credit Union, PNC Bank, Dominos and Charlotte Hornets Foundation for their continued commitment and support of these nonprofit organizations. Implementing these creative strategies with our partners helps raise awareness and funds to support nonprofits and their mission to make a meaningful difference in our community.
Profits generated by the themed jerseys totaled more than $7,700, benefiting the following:
Through home field performances, the Swarm raised a charitable total of $7,000 throughout the season. The PNC Bank Three-Point Counter, an ongoing activation, benefited Children & Families First of Greensboro.
Dunks for Hunger, a new activation from Allegacy Federal Credit Union, benefited Second Harvest Food Bank for every Swarm dunk during home games this season.
Finally, with the new “Swarm Win” activation, Domino’s donated $500 for every Swarm win at home, totaling $4,000 for a local nonprofit.
This season’s contributions represent the largest donation in franchise history.
