ESPN unveiled its all-new College Game Day intro music on Saturday before the big Week 1 slate, and it didn’t go so well.
Replacing Big & Rich with Darius Rucker, Lainey Wilson and The Cadillac Three and essentially doing a remixed version of “Comin’ to Your City,” the new intro song for the flagship pre-college football show really didn’t garnered praise from fans.
Even though the song was never high art, this new version really didn’t satisfy the fans of the original version released in the 2000s. Like, people really don’t like it. They talked about it very openly. Like, phew, bad reviews!
WELL, here it is. This is the new church music. pic.twitter.com/gjCGlNcf3n

We’re not entirely sure what to think of it, and it’s fair to say that it’s really not much better than what came before. However, the above was comfortable, and it’s a cold shower of change.
College football fans have aired their grievances over this revamped intro song, as one would imagine.
