The message from the Florida coaching staff at Sunday’s Under Armor All-American camp was unequivocal: The Gators are recruiting with urgency and determination.
From Tampa to Sarasota to Orlando, several four-star prospects described a staff that texts daily, evaluates honestly and radiates energy inside the building.

“Everyone on the team texts me,” Tampa Jesuit linebacker Kaden Henderson said. said. “It means a lot. No other staff does this: only Florida does it.”
Quarterback David Davidson called the head coach Jon Sumrall “one of the most energetic coaches I’ve been around,” adding that the energy “flows throughout the entire facility.”
Defensive linemen echoed a similar theme. Tyler Alexander emphasized consistency. Maleek Lee praised coach Gerald Chatman for his authenticity, saying he’s “not trying to take lip service.”
The Gators also appear committed to locking down in-state talent, with heavy attention on prospects from Orlando, Jacksonville and the Gulf Coast, including 2028 edge rusher Asher Ghioto, who said Florida continues to prioritize him.
