Raiders made a surprise job on Friday to acquire Geno Smith Seahawks in exchange for a third round choice before the free agency. Smith should also obtain a new contract. This decision shakes the fantastic landscape of the two teams, breathing in the offensive of the raiders while leaving the biggest names of Seattle in a limbo state. Here’s how things are looking for both teams after the agreement.
Raiders Fantasy Outlook
The Raiders offensive in 2024 was spoiled by a rotary casting of quarter, runners and even wide receivers. The only constant for the team was the domination of Brock Bowers. Bowers established the recruit record for the reception of the yards by a tight end with 1,194 and came four timid catches of the reception record which remains at 116. It finished second among the tight ends with target part (26%) and targets by road (0.25). The efficiency of Bowers, however, is lagging behind its metric metrics:
-
2.02 yards per road (4th record)
-
10.7 yards per reception (16th)
-
7.8 yards per target (19th)
Even after a historic recruit season, there was almost certainly more juice to sneak in Bowers via a certain additional efficiency. According to person, the raiders did not have an effective quarter-backing game in 2024. Vegas ranked 28th in EPA by passes. Their two main quarters – Garnder Minshew and Aidan O’Connell – led the 25th and 38th in percentage of completion on expected (min. 200 dropbacks). Pro Football Focus ranked the two passers-by outside their top-32 quarters.
Geno Smith, on the other hand, ranks first at CPOE since his care as a permanent starter of Seattle in 2022. He is 22nd on 49 quarters qualified in EPA per game.
Smith is not Elite, but he is capable. And it is more than the raiders obtained from their stable of passers -by last year. Geno was also at his best sub -Pete Carroll. For those who have not checked the news lately, it is the Raiders head coach, Pete Carroll. Although Carroll is a defensive trainer by trade, Seattle offenses had his fingerprints everywhere during his Seahawks. Raiders Oc Chip Kelly The offensive will extend the defenses with its appearance to create openings for its interior zone race program. In theory, this should create an effective attack – although at low volume -, similar to the two years of Smith under Carroll. Smith’s fantastic production will probably be at the top of QB2 numbers, although it is not really a change for him.
According to person, a better pass attack will put more distance between Bowers as TE1 and Trey McBride as the best best fantastic option at the post. This decision also stimulates Jakobi Meyers’ stock as a de facto WR2 of the team. Meyers took off after Vegas sent Davante Adams to the Jets, with an average of 73 yards per game without the old Packer, Raider and Jet on the list.
Raiders are a decent bet to invest in the receiver via the project, but for the moment, Meyers at PPR WR2 on the rise. The last among the notable passages is Tre Tucker. If Tucker escapes the draft without too much competition for representatives, he could appear for the occasion. Smith was
PFF No. 3 ranked the deep passer last year and obtained the first 10 notes in his three seasons as Seattle’s starter. Tucker has seen just over 30% of his career target more than 20 meters below.
Seahawks quarter-back options
Seattle has currently Sam Howell and Jarren Hall on the quarter-Arrière list. They will not enter the week 1 with this quarter room. The options are mainly low in free agency, Sam Darnold by exceeding the best of the group. Darnold finished 2024 classified 14th in EPA and seventh in Cpoe. No other free agent or sales candidate ended up among the first 15 in the two metrics, and even less. Darnold also has a connection to Seattle via the newly created Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak. Darnold’s season as a safeguard of the 49ers coincided with the passage of Kubiak as a team game coordinator. The real bridge options like Daniel Jones and Russell Wilson are also at stake. The two would be disastrous for the production of the team.
The project is probably where Seattle wants to find its next quarter-Arrière leaving. They are currently having the overall choice n ° 18. This puts them out of the race for Cam Ward and Sheder Sanders if they remain in place. Now, with a little additional firepower to mount, Seattle could be aggressive if they consider one or the other player as a smuggler defining the franchise.
Seahawks GM John Schneider on the NFL combines:
“There were a few QBs that launched the ball very well … We wanted to make sure that we spend more time at school, revise and that our coaches spend a little more time there.”

Hopes in the first round Jaxson Dart and Tyler Shough are also almost certainly on their radar. Howell, a free agent, would probably serve as a starter at the start of the season in this scenario.
Seahawks Fantasy Fallout
The next domino to die for is DK Metcalf. The Seattle star heads for the last year of his contract and asked for a job. The Seahawks allow him to explore potential partners. With at least one eye on the future, probably two, Seattle’s front office could be more inclined to exchange a wide aging range of a year of decline. New England, Green Bay and Carolina resemble potential landing points for him between their needs in the receiver and an ability to extend it. Metcalf would have the potential to dominate the targets in the three spots.
Stay or go, what is behind door 2 is a frightening proposal for Metcalf. Despite two missing games last year, Metcalf led the NFL in deep targets (32) and receptions (16). He converted these opportunities into 489 yards and five scores. The two brands ranked in the first five of the league. For all its faults, Smith’s deep ball has never been in question. Losing this could be a devastating blow for the fantastic prospects of Metcalf.
On the other hand, the Seahawks clearly indicate that they plan to build the whole plane of Jaxon Smith-Mightba. They could even have enough for a second vehicle. From week 9, JSN has an average of 6.3 catches for 82 yards and 0.6 affected. It was targeted on 23% of its routes and won 2.4 yards per route. Smith-Njigba has watched the part of an Alpha receiver in the past two months and will have the chance to play this role for an entire season next year. Even with a probable demotion in the quarter game on the way, the target volume of JSN will maintain it at the top of WR2 ranks.
WR4 from Seattle – Now potentially their WR2 with Tyler Lockett released – Jake Bobo is a name to watch. Bobo cracked the list like Udfa and Pinch-Hit as a WR3 several times as a recruit. He had a match of 60 yards and two affected. Seattle used it sparingly last year. Noah Fant, entering a year of contract, is another player who could benefit from the target vacuum cleaner created in Seattle. Fant has never lived up to the media threshing of the first round, but made the occasional game in Seattle. More opportunities in 2025 could maintain its TE2 raft.
