College football fans are not impressed with ESPN’s choice for the theme song for the upcoming college football season.
ESPN always chooses a new song to represent the season and to broadcast it in the promos of the big games on the network. This is not new at all. It is something that has been announced every year before the start of the season, but this year’s choice is causing a lot of talk.
The network chose Jelly Roll’s “Get By” as its anthem for 2024, and reactions quickly poured in.
ESPN has been criticized for its choice of 2024 college football anthem.
College Football Fans are not impressed at all, and they’ve made that clear on social media. Check out some of the reactions below and let me know what you think at [email protected]:
While I’m certainly not a Jelly Roll detractor at all, I do agree with people who say it’s a big change and a failure on ESPN’s part.
The person above who suggested a remix of Zach Bryan “American Nights” was a hit. There’s a version that’s currently buzzing and would have been perfect for the 2024 college football anthem.
I’m also convinced that ESPN could have easily afforded it.
There’s also a version of “Delta Dawn” that went viral and would have been a better choice. Nothing against Jelly Roll, but the song just isn’t that great.
A college football anthem should make you want to run through a brick wall. Does that feel like you’re going to get that from ESPN’s choice? I certainly don’t.
