We know Carmelo Anthony will be a first -round renowned temple. As it should be.
Dwight Howard will join him. Although the official announcement will not come before this weekend, Chams Charania d’Espn announced the news that we all expected. Howard has essentially confirmed the news on X.
I want Kg, Shaq and Kareem to get me out 🙏🏾 #hof
– Dwight Howard (@dwighthoward) April 5, 2025
While young NBA fans can only remember Howard of her time with the Lakers and afterwards, this version was a shell of one of the best great men in the NBA for a decade. Howard was undoubtedly the best defender of his generation, a triple defensive player of the year, a player of eight times All-NBA and an all-star eight times who won an NBA ring in the bubble with the Lakers.
Howard and Anthony were locks to make the temple of fame. Sue Bird is also eligible and should be an undisputed lock. Others eligible for the temple of fame this weekend include Maya Moore, the 2008 American Male Basketball Olympic Basketball team (which included Anthony and Howard), Marques Johnson, the coaches Billy Donovan and Mark Few, and the owner of Heat Micky Arison.
