Sacramento Kings Star point guard De’Aaron Fox took to social media to voice his opinion on a trending high school basketball discussion.
At every level of football there is a play clock. I don’t understand the people who oppose the use of a shot clock (in basketball). At least at the college level.

For years, basketball fans have argued over whether or not high school basketball should feature a shot clock. Jordan Divens According to MaxPreps, 25 U.S. states do not have a shot clock in place for high school basketball and there are no official plans to implement one.
Fox, who seems to agree with the majority of basketball fans on the subject, believes that a shot clock should be implemented in high school basketball, at least at the college level.
Many states and small counties would struggle to find additional staff at every game because they would need someone to operate the shot clock, a big reason many states have not adapted.
The number of states implementing a shot clock has increased in recent years, but it should be used at all levels of basketball. Fox reinforces his argument, suggesting that defensive strategies should not have to change due to the lack of a shot clock.
Many fans have been asking the NBA to reduce the shot clock from 24 to 20 seconds, which would help reduce possession times and make the game faster. While this is not necessary, it once again proves the importance of shot clock in the game of basketball.
In 2015, the NCAA decided to shorten the men’s basketball shot clock from 35 to 30 seconds, potentially even adopting the NBA’s rule of a 24-second shot clock.
Most fans feel the same way as Fox, and eventually we could see high school basketball experience a nationwide shift.
