Curt Cignetti Saturday continued a long history of victories, as Indiana Football beat Charlotte 52-14.
And with Indiana’s latest victory, Cignetti etched his name in Hoosiers history. With victory At Memorial Stadium, Cignetti became the first Indiana coach to start his tenure in Bloomington 4-0.

The Hoosiers’ blowout win over the 49ers also marks the first time Indiana has started a season 4-0 since 2020, when former coach Tom Allen was in charge. The AthleticIndiana is the first FBS team to score 200 or more points this season, with Indiana scoring 31 points against FIU, 77 points against Western Illinois and 42 points against UCLA before losing 52 points to Charlotte on Saturday.
Indiana’s success so far this season is nothing short of impressive for Cignetti and his staff, as the Hoosiers have not only lost 39 players to the transfer portal this offseason (by 247Sports), but also brought in 31 players from the portal.
Cignetti is in his first season at Indiana after five years at James Madison, where he played the Dukes at a nationally ranked program. Cignetti went 52-9 overall in five seasons at Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Indiana will return to Big Ten play next week when it welcomes Maryland to town for a noon ET kickoff.
