Entering Sunday, Colorado had a commitment to his 2027 recruiting class; now this number is zero. Cornerback Dolph McDonald announced on social media Sunday afternoon that he is decommitting from the Buffaloes, citing his desire to evaluate all of his options since he is early in the recruiting process.

McDonald and his brother Xavier, wide receiver, signed to the Buffs on December 6. New Colorado offensive coordinator Brennan Marion recruited the duo to Sacramento State while he was head coach. Xavier was committed to the Hornets but moved to CU after Marion got the OC job.

Dolph is a four-star cornerback and holds offers from Auburn, Ole Mademoiselle and Michigan. 247Sports ranks him 319th overall and 36th overall.

Based on his decommitment announcement, Dolph MCDonald is not ruling out Colorado, leaving the door open for him to recommit and join his brother.

Hopefully for Deion Sanders and the Buffs, Dolph’s decommitment doesn’t prompt his brother to do the same as Colorado inches closer to the Feb. 4 signing date.
