Becky BurkeArizona’s first class includes four players rated as four-star recruits by at least one recruiting service. The 2026 class will step in to replace at least three and possibly four current Wildcats who are listed as seniors or higher on the 2025-26 roster.

The highest ranked player in the class is the guard Jasleen Green. According to the site, the Florida native is between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall.

ESPN considers her a four-star recruit and the No. 60 player in the class in its latest rankings. She was previously #59, so her ranking hasn’t changed much with the new ranking.

Green is the only one of four Arizona recruits rated and ranked by 247sports, making her the only one committed to being rated a four-star recruit by all four services monitored by that site (i.e. ESPN, 247sports, Rivals and Prospects Nation).

She averaged 24.4 minutes per game in 80 games during her first three years at American Heritage. She averaged 19.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.0 steals and 0.6 blocks per game in her career. She shot 45 percent from the floor, including 38 percent from 3-point range. She made 75 percent of her free throws.

Burke’s first commitment in 2026 was Priyanka Ponnama 6-foot-2 forward who hails from Pennsylvania but played in New Jersey.

Ponnam appears to have been reclassified when she moved from Pennsylvania to New Jersey. ESPN had her as a three-star recruit in the class of 2025. Prep Hoops also had her listed as a member of the 2025 class.

Prospects Nation ranks her as a four-star recruit in the class of 2026. She is in their Elite 150 but is not ranked in their top 60. 247sports ranks her as a three-star recruit in the class of 2026.

In August 2024, spot Brandon Clay wrote on 247sports that she “demonstrated skills she hasn’t had the chance to show on the club circuit. With her size at the position, Ponnam could be part of a potential NCAA tournament-caliber team at the next level. If this assessment is any indication, then Ponnam’s best basketball days are still ahead of her.”

The other Arizona signee ranked by ESPN is another guard. Makayla Presser-Palmer has been on Burke’s radar since his time in Buffalo. She’s another player from Burke’s home state of Pennsylvania. She is rated a 4-star recruit by three of the four services, with only 247 sports leaving her out.

Rivals has the Pennsylvania guard as the 80th-ranked player in the country. Her industry ranking places her 72nd overall, 24th among shooters, and 4th in Pennsylvania. However, this is partly based on an old ranking from ESPN. ESPN places her at 63rd in its latest rankingsat the bottom of #55 when compiling Rival’s industry rankings.

The class is complemented by exceptional size in a 6-foot-5 Australian center Callie Hinder. Hinder plays for the Australian national program, but she moved to the Phoenix area in 2016 after her father retired from his professional basketball career.

Hinder reported more than 20 offers, including from fellow Big 12 schools Arizona State, Kansas, Texas Tech and TCU. She narrowed it down to the Wildcats and Jayhawks.

When she committed to Arizona, the best rating she had was a three-star recruit by service. Since then, she has progressed in Rivals’ esteem. That department counts her as a four-star recruit, the No. 2 center and No. 2 player in the state of Arizona.

Burke will speak to the media about the course Thursday morning.
